Ascendant Lord Obsidius is the fifth (including Beauty) and final boss in the Blackrock Caverns. He appears to be a corrupted Earthen of some sorts, proficient in the arts of Shadow and Twilight magic.

Abilities

• Stone Blow—A strong attack that increases melee damage by 50% and knocks the target down.
• Thunderclap—Inflicts 7500 to 8500 Nature damage to nearby enemies, slowing their movement, attack and casting speeds by 35% for 8 sec.
• Transformation—Obsidius possesses one of his shadows.
• Twilight Corruption—Corrupts an enemy target, inflicting 4000 Shadow damage every 2 sec. for 12 sec.

Strategy

The little guys channel a healing reduction debuff on current threat target when they are close enough too him. This basically prevents the target from getting healed at all.

To handle this effect, you can either kite them around (yes they can be slowed, but not stunned), or let threat on them bounce around in a controlled manner (The dps take threat off the tank when he is low on hp and then they all run to the tank so he can get threat back when he is at full hp.) Certain crowd controls do work as well, like Entangle Roots. Using roots on one of the adds effectively disables them for the entire fight (rerooting is no problem). They are immune to fear. Not sure if any other CC’s work, however.

Best way to heal this fight is with a large amount of rolling hots and bouncing threat or quick large heals in the windows of opportunity on the varying targets.

The boss will also periodically switch bodies with one of the other two and the threat table is wiped. This can make kiting them around interesting.

There is also a magic debuff called twilight corruption that gets thrown around, it does a ton of damage and should be dispelled asap.
